Modern design meets Country Lifestyle. The home was designed by Bruce Dickson from Down to Earth Architects, with the main focus being the magnificent views of Kyalami and Waterfall City. Keeping the intimacy of family life confined to a central modern landscaped garden was also achieved. This impressive 4 bedroom home was perfect for our client and his family, built to last a lifetime. Functional modern spaces throughout the home will take the family through each stage of life. An entirely exclusive guest suite with private kitchen and lounge supports family visits from afar. The finishes have clean modern lines, incorporating modern fashion that display’s the client’s tastes. The home was completed in 2016.
Due to the layout of the stand and space available to store material, the home was constructed in a phased approach. The main house was initially constructed, with the cottage wing added on. The house has large panels of windows, and with the architect having specified double glazing, it was a marvelous achievement simply installing the heavy glass in this home without equipment to carry the panels.
The modern home, along with it’s insulated screed, double glazing windows, insulated ceilings, and clever orientation of overhangs, is exceptionally thermal efficient in maintaining temperature, resulting in the heating and cooling sources having to work minimally.
Ivecon Projects relied on many existing suppliers, as well as some new client appointed suppliers, which resulted in a marrying of the old with the new. The client nominated Green Leaf Kitchens for all the modern built in cupboards, vanities, and 3 full kitchens. Streamlight was also brought in to assist with the light design, as well as supply of all the light fittings.
Steel Studio was contracted in to supply and install the various stainless steel and glass ballustrading, whilst Steel Form provided the magnificent floating staircase. RLWA, a regular support to Ivecon Projects, provided the aluminum windows and doors, the internal timber doors, as well as the external composite deck around the pool. Pools by Nature were responsible for the complete landscape layout and implementation, as well as the construction and commissioning of the pool.
